Backup...

When backing up your database using this option the program also performs necessary housekeeping tasks to ensure that your data is synchronised.  Such operations include:-

• packing - deletes the RED items...
• re-indexing - makes the system work faster
• updating used thesaurus records
• cleaning up loans
• backing up all data and index files - TextTracker also makes several internal archives that might save your bacon at some stage!

This operation should be done regularly to ensure the security and integrity of your database...

DO NOT simply copy the database to another form of backup media without performing a Utilities / Backup-Restore / Backup.
