Borrowers

Updating Borrowers is done by using filters-

You may need to change the loan limit for a particular group or level.  In this instance all of the borrowers in the Groups K01 and K02 are to be given a loan limit of 5 resources.  Currently there are a number of these borrowers that only have a loan limit of 3.  Instead of changing the details of each individual borrower it is easier to do a global update.

    1. Select from the drop down list what you would like to use as a filter in this case it is Group.  Because there are a number of groups that this change will effect the values have been set up as a range ie All groups from K to K02  if you wanted all of the groups beginning with K you would use K to KZZZZ, as Z is the highest value you can have.
    2. The filters have been refined even further by adding a second set of criteria.  Here I am only interested in those students that currenly have a loan limit of 3
    3. Click on Apply
    4. Select the field you wish to replace in this case it is Limit and all of these students will now receive a loan limit of 5.
    5. It is alway a good idea to check the number of filtered records that this change will apply to - for your own peace of mind if anything.
    6. Once you're happy with the list and number of borrowers this change will apply to click on the Replace button.

If you find that you have set incorrect filters before you click on REPLACE you can click on the cancel button to reset the filters.  BUT if you have already clicked on replace you will need to restore from the backup you done before starting the update......(you did do a backup, didn't you???)
