Creating a CD copy of the entire system is definitely a good idea.

In our experience, CD-Rs are more reliable than CD-RWs.  At around 50 cents a CD it is well worth making a copy of your entire system at least every term, dating the disc and never using it again (unless you have to rescue your system of course!). Yes, I know you are not going to do that so maybe once a year would be good?

There are lots of programs out there ("there" being an arbitrary description of all places and time including where and now you sit) that can be used to burn CD-Rs, even Windows can burn CDs now... please do it from time to time, if you ever need it... you'll be VERY pleased you did it!

Key points:-

• Use a reputable brand of CD (Usually this means a CD that actually has the manufacturers details printed on each CD... they aren't scared to be associated with the CD after it has left the box!)
• Find out where your system is running from... on the TextTracker Suite menu screen you'll see a Data Folder section of the screen. This tells you exactly where your software is running from so you know where to get the files from to burn a CD-R backup
• Feel free to drag the whole folder to your CD.  The only advantage to dragging the contents is that you will be creating a self-starting CD that allows people to lookup the Enquiry module straight from the CD.  If you drag the folder the CD will not self start, you would just need to find the TTPlus.exe file and double click it to search the CD
• Burn the data as slowly as you can.  4x or 8x is recommended.  The slower you burn the better quality the CD you produce
• Turn off the Multi-session option if possible.  The CD-R backup is for archiving which means you don't want to write over it!  Make it a write once CD and turn on the Finalise CD to prevent further writing option if you can
