Navigate to the USMARC file you have (the system looks for *.dat files automatically so if you have a different file extension on your file you should change the File Type to All Files), click on the file and click Open
The records are then appended (added) to the database and you can now go into Data Entry to sort out the details
Note:
It's a good idea to backup before inloading large USMARC data files in case you need to undo your inload
If you are inloading data downloaded from SCIS you can call up all the "unprocessed" SCIS records in the Data Entry module by clicking the SCIS / Edit option in the Data Entry module. The SCIS records have a # in front of their SCIS number which is how the software recognises them as special. Only remove this after adding the last barcode to the item so they can easily be called up if they are not finished
Unprocessed SCIS records are not searchable in the Enquiry module until the # is removed from the SCIS Number field and their is at least one active barcode attached to the item
If you need to delete inloaded SCIS items in bulk you can do so under Utilities / Update / Catalogue / Update... just set the Selection criteria as Low Value # and then click Apply. Check the data display grid and click Purge if you are confident you want to mark all the displayed records for deletion. To actually remove the items you need to Utilities / Pack the Catalogue or just do a normal Backup which will achieve the same thing. (Obviously they can be deleted manually by calling them up and then clicking the - button on the Cat Detail tab)
